Balasore: Police have asked bankers and representatives of financial institutions to install high-resolution closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and deploy security guards on their premises.

Security concerns were raised by the police authorities at a meeting held recently with the stakeholders to check incidents of cash loot. The police advised the banks and financial institutions to inform the cops while shifting cash from one premises to another.

"Many times, it was observed that the CCTV footages at were of very bad quality or the cameras were lying defunct. It was also found that the cameras were installed only at the cash counters," said additional superintendent of police Santosh Nayak.
