Bhubaneswar, May 31: Protests over discrepancies in the CBSE Class XII results have intensified even as two officials from the board head office in New Delhi arrived in the city today to discuss the grievances with their regional counterparts.

The students have been protesting ever since the declaration of results on March 28. Parents and students from various districts of the state have flocked the CBSE zonal office here with complaints of poor scores.

"Admissions have begun in various colleges across the country. But, we will miss the deadline by the time the actual results come out. I had expected 95 per cent but got less than 80 per cent. With such marks, I cannot secure admission in any good college," said Nimisha, a student of DAV School, Chandrasekharpur.

The board's examination controller K.K. Choudhary and deputy secretary D.K. Goyal arrived in the city to discuss the issue of discrepancy in results with the zonal officials here. "We will try to solve the issue within 15 days," said CBSE Bhubaneswar zone assistant secretary Jagabandhu Pradhan.

The students can apply for verification of marks from May 31 to June 5, while they can obtain photocopy of the re-checked answer sheets between June 14 and June 19.

In another development, members of the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal and the National Students' Union of India today staged a protest in front of the CBSE office at Saheed Nagar here.
