Cuttack: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday urged Union finance minister Arun Jaitley to take immediate steps to compensating the state for the Central Sales Tax loss for four financial years - 2013-14 to 2016-17 - on account of the GST rollout.

Dhenkanal: Odia television star Anil Nayak was arrested from Dhenkanal on Tuesday. Nayak was alleged of kidnapping a Rama Devi College student.

Bhubaneswar: Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud appeared before  Mahila police station on Tuesday to record his statement in connection with the complaint lodged by Kavita Mahakud, who claims to be his daughter-in-law. The MLA’s statement was recorded under Section 162 of Criminal Procedure Code.

Balasore: The police have held a 33-year-old man on the charge of killing his 48-year-old aunt on Monday night. The accused has been identified as Ashok Behera of Mulanagar village.
