Konark fee hike
Bhubaneswar: The Konark Surakshya Samiti and the district administration of Puri met on Saturday to discuss the issue of hike in the entry charges to the Sun Temple. It was decided that the hiked entry fee will be implemented from May 23, but there will be free entry for people every Saturday. The ASI had hiked the entry fee to Rs 30 from Rs 10 for Indians.

Bhubaneswar: A three-member team of Odisha High Court Bar Association led by its president Ashok Mohapatra and secretary B.K. Ragada were denied permission to inspect the Jagmohan of the Jagannath temple on Saturday.
Vigilance raid
Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday searched the houses of finance department employee Krushna Chandra Behera. Acting on a complaint against him about having accumulated disproportionate assets, a special squad raided Behera’s houses at five places in Bhubaneswar. Movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 1 crore were detected during the raid.
MLA surrenders
Bhubaneswar: Jeypore Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati surrendered before the sub-divisional judicial magistrate court on Saturday in connection with a case of ransacking a liquor manufacturing unit. He was granted bail on a bond of two sureties of Rs 20,000 each. The incident had taken place on March 10 at Boriguma in Koraput district. Orissa High Court had earlier asked him to surrender before the SDJM court in Jeypore.
Hotels fined
Bhubaneswar: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered four hotels in Dhenkanal to pay a fine of Rs 4 lakh for breaking environment pollution norms. The four hotels are Surya, Sakuntala,
Devkanya and Sneha. The hotels had violated the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, and the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
