Brahmani tragedy

Dhenkanal: Four persons died and two missing in a boat capsize in the Brahmani river at Chandipal ghat at Bhuban block on Monday. Local people rescued one Rubina Rout and rushed her to Dhenkanal District Hospital, but she died. The rescue parties recovered three other bodies, identified as Satya Narayan Swain, Sipun Mohanty and Sagarika Mallick. Police said two other persons identified as Bebina Rout and Saroj Mohanty were missing. Nearly 35 persons had hired a boat to reach Doudeswar temple on Mahashivratri.

AIIMS director

Bhubaneswar: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar is set to have a new director. The interview will be held in AIIMS Delhi on March 18. Nearly 17 aspirants, including three from the AIIMS Bhubaneswar, are shortlisted to appear for the interview.

Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday announced a cash award of Rs 5,000 on criminal Shahjahan alias Patu, who had escaped from the SCB hospital on Saturday. The police will issue his photographs in various areas of the state. Patu escaped while being taken to the orthopaedic ward for.

Tension

Bhubaneswar: Tension gripped the Capital Hospital following the death of a newborn. The deceased’s mother, Kiran Kalia, alleged that she had delivered the child on the hospital verandah, but not a single doctor attended her baby.
