Bhubaneswar: The Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday deferred its padayatra, which was scheduled to be held on October 2, to October 14. The party will hold the padayatra in 10 phases and it will continue till April next year. 

Selector

Bhubaneswar: Odisha footballer and former Indian women’s team captain Shradhanjali Samantaray has been appointed a national selector for U-18 women’s team.  She will take part in the selection of the national team during the Goa tournament that will be held from October 4 to 22.

Malkangiri: A three-member team headed by development commissioner Upendranath Behera reviewed the progress of the construction work of Gurupriya bridge here on Tuesday.

OJEE seats

Bhubaneswar: Spot counselling to fill vacant MBBS and BDS seats began on Tuesday at the OJEE cell in Gandamunda here. The counselling of students is being done based on their AIPMT ranking. OJEE chairman Tusharkant Nath said two MBBS seats each in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and MKCG in Berhampur and 38 MBBS seats at Hi-Tech remain vacant. On the other hand, 16 BDS seats at SCB and 23 at Hi-Tech in Bhubaneswar are vacant.
