Cut-off list

Bhubaneswar: The first cut-off list for junior colleges will be published on Wednesday. Students could check the list at dheodisha.gov.in, said a senior official. Students will also be intimated through SMS texts.

Special duty

Puri: Senior IPS officer Soumendra Priyadarshi, who was appointed as the officer on special duty for the Nabakalebar, took charge of his new assignment on Tuesday.

Fresh summon

Bhubaneswar: Police have decided to serve a fresh summon on Chitra Athwani, a friend of the vice-chairman of a newspaper, P.K. Iyer, whom the police had arrested from Hotel Trident on June 6.

Four hurt in blast

Bhawanipatna: Four persons were injured after a machine inside a rice mill had blasted off at a village in Kalahandi district. The injured were immediately rushed to hospital. Their condition is stated to be serious.

Infants ill

Bhubaneswar: At least 30 infants are afflicted with an unknown disease in Malkangiri district following incessant rain. The affected children from Puruna Potrel village at Korkunda block are suffering from  fever and dysentery.

Missing

Bhubaneswar: Three fishermen have been missing after their boat overturned in Paradip. Marine police are searching for the missing persons.

Ganja seized

Berhampur: The excise striking force seized 40kg ganja worth Rs 3 lakh from five persons on Tuesday. They were on their way to Bengal from Gajapati district.

Infra projects

Bhubaneswar: A total of 32 projects in railways, national highways, steel and mines and power sectors were reviewed at the cabinet committee investment project monitoring group meet. The meeting was chaired by chief secretary G.C. Pati.
