Murder arrest

Paradip: With the arrest of five criminals, police have solved the murder case of Somnath Das, 48, a nightwatchman at the rural works development divisional office. Das was gunned down as he had stopped the goons from extorting money from the engineers of the department.  

Mishap kills 1

Kendrapara: Sukanti Parida, 49, was run over by a truck on Sunday at Duhuria junction on the Paradip-Daitary expressway. Parida, who was riding pillion on a motorcycle, died on the spot while Pramod Dash, the motorcyclist, got seriously injured.
