Capital Hospital

Bhubaneswar: The Capital Hospital will be converted into a postgraduate institute soon. The institute will have 26 postgraduate seats in eight subjects. The construction work will start from this year itself. This was decided at a meeting by chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday. 

Resume work

Cuttack: Orissa High Court Bar Association on Friday decided to resume court work from December 21, while giving a 30-day ultimatum to the state government to reconsider the decision to abolish Odisha Administrative Tribunal. lawyers have abstained from court work since Wednesday demanding revoking of the decision.

Dupe cuffs

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested the managing director of Shibani Builders, Ratikant Kanungo, from Chintamaniswar on Friday on charges of duping a man of Rs 22 lakh. Police said t Kanungo had taken Rs 22 lakh from a customer but he neither handed over land to the man nor returned the money.

Two arrested

Bhubaneswar: Two persons were arrested on Friday on the charge of poisoning peacocks in the Madhupur forest in Khurda district. A joint team of Khurda and Chandka forest ranges conducted raids and nabbed the persons. The carcasses of twenty birds, including 18 peacocks, were found from the forest recently. 

Deposit scam

Bhubaneswar: Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday filed the preliminary chargesheet against Real Alliance Estates Private Limited, a money mobilisation company. The chargesheet mentioned the company had duped investors of Rs 1.2 crore. It indicted two directors of the company who are on the run. The Jharsuguda-based company was active between 2008 and 2013. 

Road accident

Angul: Two road accidents took place in Angul and Dhenkanal districts on Friday, killing two and injuring 22 passengers.
