Bail pleas denied

Bhubaneswar: The CBI court of special chief judicial magistrate on Thursday rejected the interim bail plea of Mayurbhanj BJD MP Ramchandra Hansdah. He was seeking permission to attend the upcoming Lok Sabha session. Hansdah is lodged in jail for his alleged links with Nava Diganta Capital Services Limited. The district and session judge court also rejected the bail plea of broker Subhankar Nayak who was arrested by CBI for his alleged involvement in money laundering scam by the Seashore Group. 

Chargesheet

 Bhubaneswar: The CBI on Thursday filed a preliminary chargesheet in a case against Micro Finance Limited, a money deposit collection firm. The chargesheet mentioned financial irregularities of Rs 400 crore by the company, which duped the investors by floating six subsidiary firms. 

Action sought

 Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing of the state crime branch on Thursday wrote to the finance department seeking permission to attach the properties of Biswa and Credible Micro Finance Limited, two chit fund companies.

Viscera report

Bhubaneswar: The viscera report of film distributor Kulamani Mishra, 46, whose body was found at a parking lot near Bhubaneswar station on Feb. 2, indicated presence of alcohol and a sedative.
