Bhubaneswar, May 5: The Council of Higher Secondary Education would implement the process of applying for re-addition of marks online, apprehending disturbance and threat from students and parents.
The students will have to apply online and the money would be collected through a system called State Bank Collect, a State Bank of India initiative.
This is the first time that the council has adopted the method of e-evaluation, criticised by several forums, as any faults would ruin the career of thousands of students.
To avoid any trouble and flare up, the council has decided to address the grievances - the online way. Earlier, the students used to fill up the forms and submit the re-addition fees at the council office in Bhubaneswar.
"The decision in this regard was taken in the wake of last year's incident, when irate students ransacked the council office protesting against faulty evaluation. The fees for re-addition will be Rs 200 per answer script," said council chairman Basudev Chattoi.
"The students will no longer have to come to the office. They can apply for re-addition through the State Bank Collect method," Chattoi said.
This year, around 3.70 lakh students took the Plus Two examinations in arts, science, commerce and vocational streams.
The council is yet to complete the e-evaluation of the Plus Two papers. The evaluation began on April 7.
It had earlier announced to complete the process by April 24. Later, it had extended that date for another week.
Authorities admitted that the teachers, who were e-evaluating for the first time, were taking time to get accustomed to the software and other technical aspects.
"The e-evaluation of the science papers are over and that of the mathematics papers are on. The e-evaluation of science papers went on smoothly without any hassle, and we are now nearing the completion of the evaluation for the mathematics papers. It will take a day or two to complete the remaining ones," said Chattoi.
The Plus Two results are likely to be announced in the last week of May. A total of four lakh answer scripts of 94,952 students from the science stream are being e-evaluated at 28 evaluation centres. The evaluation of arts and commerce papers, which began on March 31, has been over.
Chattoi sounded confident about the Plus Two results and said it would be announced in the last week of May. "The tabulation of marks of all the subjects except maths have begun and will be over shortly," he said.
Chattoi also said students could also request for a soft copy of their answer sheets.
