For Srinabasa Udgata, principal of the Venkateswar English Medium School (VEMS), Unit IV, Bhubaneswar, the institution serves as a torch to knowledge.
Founded in 1985, the school was affiliated to CISCE, New Delhi, within a span of five years. Since then it has been preparing students for Class X examinations and has produced impressive results regularly. Now, it has extended its branches at Sahid Nagar, Chandrasekharpur and Old Town areas.
“Academic excellence is a top priority of VEM School. Each subject is taught in such a manner that even slow-learners are able to cope with the curriculum. Close monitoring and frequent assessments have paid rich dividends. The excellent performance of the students in ICSE exams year after year bears testimony to the achievements of the school,” said Udgata.
Extra curricular activities like sports, Scouts and Guides, NCC, Junior Red Cross, art, music, dance, yoga, swimming, horse riding are also given importance. Quizzes, seminars, debates, study tours, exhibition on science, maths, social studies, art and craft, career fairs are also organised.
This year, the school celebrated its silver jubilee. On the eve of the same, VEMS launched a day boarding school at Chandrasekharpur (CBSE-affiliated) with provisions such as smart class, gymnasium, learning centre, activity room and state-of-the art labs.
