Farewell
The Mother's Public School organised a ceremony for its Class X students of the 2015 batch. The programme began with a song presented by students of Class VII and VIII. Poly Patnaik, the principal of the school, emphasised on the need to choose subjects carefully. Each of the Class X students got a scroll and memento. The chanting of hymns and the lighting of lamp added to the serenity of the event. The programme concluded with a film - A Touch of Class, which took the students on a trip down memory lane. The ceremonial presentation was greatly appreciated by the parents and students alike.

Utkal Divas
Students of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, celebrated Utkal Divas with great fanfare. Several activities, including a dance performance with the patriotic song Bande Utkal Janani playing in the background stole the show. Skit shows and dramas were organised to highlight the significance of the day. Principal K.C. Satapathy paid tributes to the great personalities of Odisha and appealed to the students to uphold the glory of the state in all spheres.
Autism Day
World Autism Awareness Day was organised at the DAV Public School, Pokhariput, on Thursday with a signature campaign. Participants wrote messages to spread the basic knowledge on autism. "Autism is not a disease and parents need to be briefed about it so that they can go for an early detection of an autistic child and help him or her get along with other children. Friends and teachers should foster special care for the kids,'' said principal Sujata, after putting her signature on the campaign poster.
Students and teachers of the school, including cadets from NCC, Scouts, Guides and Red Cross also took part in the signature campaign and took an oath to help every autistic child in their life.
Annual function
Tiny tots of Kutie Kids at the IRC village organised its annual function at Jaydev Bhawan. Dressed in colourful attires, the students presented an amazing performance of songs and dances. Parents were told not to compare their kids with any other child and let them explore the world with all their curiosity and confidence.
Destination MIT
Jeet Mohapatra, a student of St. Xavier's High School, Kedargouri has gained admission into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA. It is one of the most prestigious technical institute in the world and massively popular.. The 17-year-old has been selected for admission into the Class of 2019 of the university from over 4,000 international applicants from more than 100 countries. Jeet is the only student from Odisha among the 3 students selected from India this year and has been offered admission to the four-year undergraduate class of 2019. Jeet's father Jyoti prakash Mohapatra is a chartered accountant while his mother Sabitanjali Senapati is a lecturer in botany.
"I have a passion and love for mathematics and aim to pursue my higher studies and research in mathematics and computer science" said the teenager, who attributed his success to his mother."My mother always taught me to be focused," he said.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik also felicitated Jeet. "Our school is proud of his achievements. The management, staff and students of St Xavier's High School, Kedargouri wish him immense success throughout his career," said the school principal.
