Angul: A 15-year-old Class X student of the DAV School at Talcher has been missing since January 23.
Police are still clueless about the girl.
The girl's father lodged a missing case at Colliery police station on January 24.
Since the girl carried no mobile phone, the police are having a tough time gathering information through the old method of asking her associates, sources said.
Colliery police station inspector-in-charge Niranjan Sethi said the teenager had left her home at Balanda Colliery in the morning to go to school. That evening, she did not return home even though her classmates did.
Her family members searched for her but could not find her. Consequently, the next day, her father filed a missing report at the police station.
In his report, the father mentioned that his daughter's friends could not say anything about her whereabouts and he had failed to find her after searching at all their relatives' places.
The inspector in charge of the police station said: "As the girl is a minor, we have registered a kidnap case and launched investigations into it. So far, we have no clue. We are investigating as to whether she had gone with anybody or anything else has happened to her."
The principal of her school, B. Mahanta, also expressed his ignorance about the whereabouts of the Class X student.
"She did not come to school that day. The police are investigating and trying to find out what has happened to her," he said.
