All-assam tennis meet

Guwahati, Dec. 23: Duliajan lad Trinayan Talukdar today won the under-12 boys? title defeating local boy Sidhant Deka 6-2, 7-5 in the 15th all-Assam Ranking tennis championship at the North East Tennis Foundation complex.

In the semifinal, Trinayan beat Susanto Mohanty and Sidhant got the better of Abhinangsho Borthakur.

In the under-14 boys? event, Pranij Kalita will meet Rupam Gogoi in the final. Pranij beat S.S. Bora 6-1, 6-1 and Rupam defeated Rupjyoti Basumatary 6-2, 6-4. Rupjyoti, Rupam and Bora made the semifinals beating Arzyaman Baruah, Mriganka Bharali and Wasim Akhtar Ahmed respectively.

Pamir Gogoi has booked a berth in the final of the under-14 girls? event defeating Dhritidhara Kaushik 6-4, 6-3.

In the boys? under-18 event, Rekibul Hussain, Kaushik Das, Tutu Thapa and Suman Debnath entered the semis.

Shiv Kumar Prajapati, Ranjit Dutta, Kaushik Das, Parikshit Bhattacharjee, Rup-am Boro, Momin Ali, Anirban Hazarika, Tutu Thapa and Ranjit Dutta won their respective matches today.
