Mizoram Festival
In a bid to promote tourism and preserve the Mizo tradition, the state government will celebrate Pawl Kut, a major festival of Mizoram, on a grand scale for the first time from November 25 to 29. The festival will be kicked-off with a cultural fashion show at the AR Ground in Aizawl. Food fests will be held at tourist lodge, Chaltlang, and tourist complex, Berawthlang, throughout the festival. Exhibitions will be held on art and culture, industries, horticulture, agriculture and tourism. The fourth day will have traditional games and a music festival.
pranayama class:
Vivekananda Kendra is organising a five-day pranayama class from September 24 to 28 for both ladies and gents. The timing of the morning class will be from 6 am to 7:30 am. Workshop on music:
A workshop on jyoti sangeet will be held in Santipur from October 21 to 27, under the auspices of Zhankar, an institute of music and fine arts. The faculty includes musicians Dilip Sarma and Sudakshina Sarma.
Varsity exams:
The university exams of bachelor of journalism and mass communication and P.G. diploma in computer application for the session 2001-02 of Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur, will be held at N.E.F. College, near Bora Service, Guwahati from September 29.

Sankardev anniversary:
The 554th birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardev will be celebrated with a three-day programme at Udalguri from October 15 to 17. Various programmes like ainaam, borgeet, Assamese folksong, puthipaath and quiz, essay and drawing competitions will be held on the occasion.
Patriotic group song:
A patriotic group song competition, organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, will be held at Tezpur district library on October 6.
Inter-college competitions:
The third Nazibur Rahman memorial inter-college quiz and Sadananda Chaliha memorial inter-college speech competitions will be held at Biswananth College, Biswanath Chariali on September 28.
Computer training:
