There have been several audio-visual productions on the life and teachings of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradev.

But unlike Sati Raadhika, the film Mukhe Bolaa Naam Hridoye Dhoraa Rup takes a more serious view on spirituality.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Prabin Hazarika, the film is produced by Dilip Kumar Chetia and Minakshi Chetia under the banner of Shri Guru Productions.

The in-depth research of Minakshi, the author of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardevao Shikhsaa Aaru Aajir Somaaj, catapults the movie to a new high.

The nuggets of information collected from a series of essays by Srilaprabhupaad, Srimanta Sankaradev, Mahapurush Madhavdev and other luminaries help in scripting the dialogues that tug at the heartstrings and captivate the audience.

With Lord Krishna chanting Yada yada hi dharmashya — the famous Bhagwad Gita shloka — director Hazarika infuses an element of spiritual reasoning that makes the entire production stand out from the run-of-the-mill bhakti-oriented religious film.

The discourse between a guru and his disciples, the mainstay of the film, stays focussed on life and society. The pearls of wisdom from the pious man are based on incidents and analysis found in the immortal works of Sankaradev.

Thus the quest for human welfare overpowers the religious flavour.

Tapojit Dutta Bora as the pious preacher steals the show. Talented Bhagavat Preetam, playing Lord Krishna, and Partha Pratim Das as Arjun are equally impressive. Passionate rendition of the shlokas by Bibhu Ranjan Choudhury and borgeet, Tejore Kamalapati... by Khagen Mahanta are the film’s other praiseworthy aspects.

Music director Manoj Sarma has provided a commendable score.

The technical crew of the film, led by cameramen Lakshmi Nath and Lakshmi Gogoi, deserves special mention for imaginative cinematography. Editor Niranjan Gogoi has done a good job.
