Hailakandi, Feb. 17: The Capt. N.M. Gupta Trophy Invitation Prizemoney Football Championship will resume with its 30th edition after a gap of five years at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium in Silchar from February 21 to March 4.

It will be organised by the District Sports Association (DSA) Silchar in collaboration with the Assam Rifles.

Altogether eight teams of the Northeast will participate in the championship.

President of Silchar DSA Badal Dey said the participating teams are North Imphal Sports Association (NISA, Imphal), Assam Regimental Centre (Shillong), Assam State Electricity Board SC (Guwahati), Ramlun North (Aizwal), Mizoram Football Association, Sylhet District Sports Association (Bangladesh), 58 Gorkha Training Centre and Young Physique Union (Imphal).

The opening match will be between NISA and Assam Regimental Centre.

General secretary of the DSA, Babul Hore, said Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh will be given to the winners and runners-up respectively. Amalendu Dey and Subir Choudhury trophies will be awarded to the best footballer and the topscorer of the championship respectively.
