Guwahati: Altogether 80 students of interior design and 30 fashion designers will showcase their skills at Couturiture 2018, an interior design and fashion event of the National Institute of Interior and Fashion Design (NIID), at Pragjyoti ITA Centre for Performing Arts in Machkhowa on Thursday.
The NIID is approved by the Northeast branch of the Indian Interior Designing Society (IIDS) and it conducts diploma courses in interior and fashion designing.
It was set up by Ankur Sarda and Pankaj Chandak in 2012 and has emerged as a premier institute of design in the city. The 80 students of interior design will display their concepts of rooms with designer furniture at 10 stalls to be set up at the venue for the whole day.
"It gives us immense pleasure to see our young and budding designers take on the professional world. As a stepping stone to their future, we are organising Couturiture at ITA Machkhowa on July 5," Sarda said. "The fresh looks of the attire designed by students will mesmerise all. The latest trends in traditional, western, Indo-western and bridalwear will be displayed," founder president of the Northeast India Fashion and Design Council, Medha Saikia, said.
