Imphal, Nov. 23: A two-day national seminar on export and marketing for small and medium-sized enterprises was held here today.

Organised by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute in association with the commerce and industries department and All Manipur Entrepreneurs Association.

The seminar attempts to discuss the role of the ministry to promote small and me-dium enterprises, provide tra-ining and loans to producers.

The principal secretary, commerce and industries, L. Lakher, said, "If we produce goods for local consumption we may survive, but there will be no scope of growth. We need to export and for this we need to attract buyers. The products should be of high quality and the volume of the production should be able to meet the market demand."

The president of All Manipur Industrial Development Council, S. Rishikumar Singh, said this training would encourage entrepreneurs to participate in the trade fair at Mandalay in December.
