Dibrugarh, March 8: Phoenix Cricket Coaching Club defeated Dibrugarh Cricket Coaching Centre by 42 runs in the final of the Tarun Gogoi invitation Upper Assam prize money T20 cricket tournament organised by Phoenix Cricket Coaching Club at Piyali Phukan Stadium in Sivasagar district today.
Opting to bat, Phoenix CCC scored 149 for six in 20 overs.
Yasir Ali struck a quickfire 38 off 34 balls while Utpal Saikia contributed 30 off just 17 deliveries.
For Dibrugarh CCC, Pankaj Saikia, Gunamoni Deka and Kamakhaya Saikia took two wickets each, conceding 19, 27 and 27 runs respectively.
In reply, Dibrugarh CCC managed to score 107 for nine in 20 overs. Kalyan Gogoi scored 32 off 34 balls, while Pankaj Gogoi contributed 29 off 23 deliveries. Kamakhya Saikia contributed 23 runs off 16 balls.
For Phoenix CCC, Amrit Basfor took three for 12 in four overs. Utpal Saikia and Bharat Newar took two wickets each, conceding 8 and 25 runs.
Yasir Ali of Phoenix CCC was adjudged Man of the Tournament while Utpal Saikia was declared Man of the Match.
Bicky Bharali was adjudged Best Batsman and Shyam Gurung was given the Best Bowler award.
Club cricket: Digboi XI defeated Manimoni Club by five runs in a match of the Subhash Chandra Agarwal cricket tournament at Tinsukia District Sports Association stadium today.
The other match between Rudra Club and Black Mamba ended in a tie.
