New Delhi, Oct. 2: A militant group in Nagaland has launched a " tu tu-main main" blamegame with its former mentor in Myanmar.

The last born of Naga rebel factions, NSCN (Reformation), has accused the Myanmar-based S.S. Khaplang of failing to consolidate Naga areas in Myanmar and mocked the outfit for blaming NSCN factions in India for negotiating with the Centre while NSCN (K) itself negotiated with the Myanmar government.

Against the backdrop of a fast-progressing negotiation between NSCN (I-M) and the Centre, the president of NSCN (R), Y. Wangtin Naga, appealed to all Nagas, including different rebel groups, to bury their differences and "seize the opportunity for the common good" of the Nagas. Real reconciliation and openness is the only remedy to the long suffering, he said.

Integration is a part of the larger issue, said Wangtin, making a reference to sovereignty, but challenged Khaplang to prove how hard he is fighting Myanmar for sovereignty.

Khaplang should seize the opportunity at hand along with other ethnic groups who are in ceasefire with Union of Myanmar for solution on the basis of "federal relationship," said Wangtin.

The former NSCN (K) leader appeared to be suggesting that while Nagas of India can reconcile for a single solution, Khaplang could similarly strike a settlement with the Myanmar government.

Questioning Khaplang on his group's criticism of other groups in India for giving up sovereignty, Wangtin said if the three NSCN factions - Isak-Muivah, Khole-Kitovi and Wangtin-Tikhak - in India had given up on the sovereignty demand by being in ceasefire agreements with New Delhi, so had Khaplang by being in a similar truce with Myanmar.

Wangtin said in a globalised world no issue can be resolved through military confrontation but unfortunately, Khaplang was always far removedfrom the realistic and the pragmatic realm.
