Tura, Oct. 18: North Tura Club defeated Do'kakku Club 4-1 to secure a place in the final of Division-B of Tura Football League, 2016, at Dikki Bandi Stadium, Dakopgre, here today.
In the first half of the match, North Tura Club took the lead when Crening Sangma scored the first goal in the 15th minute. Anthon Sangma scored the second goal for North Tura Club in the 38th minute. Crening scored again in the second half.
Silman Marak of Do'kakku Club scored the only goal for his team.
The final match between Hill View Club and North Tura Club will be held on October 22.
Do'kakku will play Garuda Club for the third place qualifier match at 12.30pm, while the final will be played at 3pm. Altogether 14 teams took part in the Division-B matches, which began on September 23.
"We are very happy and excited to secure our place in the final. We will do our best to win the match. We are looking forward to fight it out with the Hill View Club," said Lindo Marak, captain of North Tura Club.
"The response from the new clubs was overwhelming, it was nice to see that the teams displayed the best of skills, determination and discipline in all the matches. We believe that the teams will continue to perform and pursue football to take it to the next level," said Sengrak D. Marak, publicity secretary of District Football Association.
In yesterday's semi-final, Hill View Club beat Garuda Club 1-0. The only goal was scored by Togan Marak at the end of the second half.
Division-B offers a platform to new football clubs to showcase their skills. The top three teams make their mark in Division-A matches in the next season.
