MoU on sepak takraw

The All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pathumthani Provincial Sports Association (PPSA), Thailand, for development of sepak takraw at the grassroots level in the state.

Imphal: The All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pathumthani Provincial Sports Association (PPSA), Thailand, for development of sepak takraw at the grassroots level in the state.

The two associations agreed to exchange programmes for coaches and players.

Both parties will support each other in terms of coaches and players and review the MoU after two years from the date of commencement.

On behalf of the PPSA, Thawatchai Srithong, the chief of governor office Pathumthani Provincial, Thailand, signed the document. The All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association was represented by its general secretary, P. Durjit Singh, in the presence of Pissanu Pholtee, member PPSA and Tharadol Thongruang who is minister counsellor (commercial), Royal Thai Embassy, Thailand.

Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh, who also attended the function, presented gifts to the Thai dignitaries and players.

Later addressing the gathering, he said exhibition matches would promote better understanding between the two countries.
