Imphal, June 23: Mayai Lambi Sports Academy bagged the overall team title of the 4th State-Level A. Nandalal Judo Championship held at Dr Kamal Indoor Stadium, Canchipur.
This is the fourth consecutive title for the Miatayai Lambi Sport Academy team in the meet. The Mayai Lambi team in the championship grabbed 16 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals for the top position while All Manipur Karate Association collected the runners-up title with 9 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze.
The third place was taken SAI Special Area Games fetching 6 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze medals.
M. Shantikumar Singh representing IKGC Khagempalli bagged the best Male Judoka title of the championship title while H. Dhanapriya Devi of Mayai Lambi Sports Academy won the Female title.
In the final moment on Sunday evening, Simon Kamei of SAG Imphal won the gold in the men’s 100-kg bout defeating Ng. Sanjoo Singh of UDA, Khangabok, who settled for the silver and S. Nanao Singh of Manipur Police Sports Club took the bronze.
Sh. Pritamkumar Singh of the Mayai Lambi team fetched the gold defeating M. Dhiren Singh of Senapati team and Th. Binodkumar Singh of Lukram Leirak Youth Club collected the bronze medal in the junior boys’ 40-kg bout.
As for the 45kg bout, Th. Athoi Singh of Mayai Lambi took the gold while K. Lebanon of All Manipur Karate Association got the silver and M. Kumarjit Singh of SAG fetched the bronze.
P. Herojit Singh wrestled out O. Joykumar of IKGC settling for gold and silver respectively in the 50-kg bout while M. Joy Singh of UDA claim the bronze medal. In the 55-kg category, S. Kimthar of SAG won the gold while Ch. Shatta of Assam Rifles took the silver and L. Ajit Singh of Mayai Lambi Sports Academy fetched the bronze.
In the 60-kg bout, M. Shantikumar of IKGC defeated S. Silakchi of SAG for the gold and the silver respectively and Kh. Amarjit Singh of SAG fetched the bronze.
As for the 65-kg category, Th. Arun of SAG won the gold overpowering Kh. Ajit Singh of Mayai Lambi team, and the latter had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Kh. Joy Singh of Assam Rifles took the bronze medal.
T. Amarjit Singh of Lukram Leirak Youth Club won the gold in the 73-kg bout defeating Panelal Yadav of Assam Rifles while A. Milan Singh of Assam Rifles, Dimapur, gets the Bronze.
In the 81-kg bout, Rajkumar got the first gold for Assam Rifles, Dimapur, team defeating W. James of SAG, who got the silver, and Ram Sharma of Assam Rifles settled for the bronze.
In the 90-kg bout, Palvar of Assam Rifles fetched another gold defeating Ch. Herojit Singh of Manipur Police Sports Club and Rk. Jitsana of All Manipur Karate Association took the bronze medal.
