Manipur quake
Imphal, May 12: A mild tremor measuring 4.8 on Richter Scale rocked Manipur this afternoon. Seismological Observation Centre of Manipur University scientist Manichandra Sanoujam said the epicentre was along the Indo-Myanmar border near the border township of Moreh at a depth of 75km. There was no report of any damage.

Highway
Guwahati: Mangaldoi MP Ramen Deka has requested Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari to develop NH 15 from Baihata Chariali to Murkeongselek in Arunachal Pradesh, into a four-lane highway with a bypass at Mangaldoi town.

Guwahati: A symposium on awareness of school students about nutritious food was organised at Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School at Amingaon in Guwahati on Thursday.
Traffic rule
Guwahati: A special team constituted by Kamrup (metro) district administration and the transport department seized 23 vehicles for violating traffic rules on Thursday. The team also collected Rs 74,300 in fine from those who violated traffic rules.
New manager
Guwahati: Pramod Kumar Jain, an Indian Railway Engineering Service officer of 1985 batch, has joined as the new divisional railway manager of the Lumding division of Northeast Frontier Railway.
