Guwahati, Nov. 27: Langsning FC, Shillong, this evening emerged the group leaders in their quarter-finals group league of the 60th Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy Tournament defeating Ar-Hima FC, Shillong, 3-0 in a mockery of football where the losers played without a full team in the ground.
After a goalless first session, Ar-Hima were reduced to a 10-man side with stopper Robin Gurung, who was struggling with a left knee injury from the very beginning and further injured his right thigh muscle in the 30th minute, pulling out at half time.
There was none in the substitute bench to replace him as Ar-Hima fielded an 11-member squad.
Ar-Hima played the match even as their regular coach Subrata Bhattacharjee was camping in Shillong with the rest of the squad for tomorrow’s second semi-final of the Shillong Premier League against Meghalaya Police SC.
Victor Shadap ruffled the net for the first goal in the 49th minute while Ningleithing fired in the second goal in the 76th minute. Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni netted the third goal in the 88th minute after Ar-Hima were reduced to a nine-man side with Kyrshan Lynshing injuring his left knee in the 85th minute.
Ar-Hima were left with only eight players on the turf in the three-minute added time with Malsawm Dawngliana injuring his ankle in the 90th minute.
Royal Wahingdoh, Shillong, will play Green Valley SC, Guwahati, in the last quarter-final league match tomorrow.
