Jorhat, April 7: In November last year, Kabyashree Bora of Pulibor here sang Whitney Houston's I will always love you and uploaded the video recording on YouTube.
This was the first step of the higher secondary final year student to compete in the global singing competition Aim2Fame being organised online by Nexar Productions, whose American headquarters is in San Fransisco and European one at Valencia in Spain.
According to their website, Nexar Productions is a company that specialises in content and concepts for online generation and integrates social media in a new way.
Their productions span a vast range, from television to events and artistes.
According to the rules, after singing a song and uploading it on YouTube, she had to send a link to Nexar Production.
Having qualified in the top 200 contestants worldwide, she was asked to garner as many likes and shares as she could on Facebook.
Having got more than 1,000 likes, she attained the fifth position among the 200 and was asked by the producers of the show to upload another video and upload it on YouTube.
Kabyashree's Hush, Hush by Pussycat Dolls, an American pop group, was selected again and the voting for the second round has begun and will end on April 20.
Having got into the second round, the stakes have risen for the young girl whose schooling in the vernacular and no formal training in singing have not been a deterrent to forge ahead.
"The voting this time is tougher. One has to open the website, www.go4fame.com, search for Kaysee and then click on Kaysee Enceladus. To register a vote, one has to click on the click to vote button on the lower right hand side of the video," Kabyashree said.
Kabyashree may not have any formal training in singing but she can play the violin, guitar and keyboard and has an ear for music.
In the video recording, which can be viewed on her Facebook profile Kaysee Enceladus, the cute and bubbly girl has sung Hush, Hush with all the panache and elan of a professional.
Kabyashree is excited and hopes to get enough votes so that she can make it to the top 20 and participate in the reality show on TV in Spain. The company will pay all the fares.
If she wins there, she can form a band with the other top four contestants and have a global exposure.
