Guwahati, Sept. 14: FC Green Valley today crushed Food Corporation of India (FCI) SC 4-0 in a one-sided encounter of the R.G. Baruah Trophy Guwahati Super League football tournament at Nehru stadium here today.

Green Valley's raids started right from the beginning of the match. The team clinched all their goals within the first half.

The first goal was netted as early as in the 10th minute. Nigerian recruit Michael Lucky tapped in a cross from playmaker Prabal Deka to put his team ahead 1-0. Without giving a breathing space to FCI men, the second goal was scored within 10 minutes of first. Prabal dodged the defenders and took a powerful shot from inside the box off a through pass from George Prince to ruffle the net.

Imran found the net in the 33rd minute with a powerful right footer from the 20-yard range. The fourth goal, however, can be billed the most brilliant of the match. Midfielder Gaiham Rongmei dodged the defenders with a calculated back pass to George who effortlessly tapped the ball in.

In the second half, the FCI men managed to take the fight to the Green Valley box, but failed to execute.

Kapil K. Ray made most of the attempts for FCI. In the 56th and 61st minutes, Kapil managed to carry the ball into the box on his solo efforts, but his shots lacked speed and precision to beat custodian Samarsingh Brahma.

They, however, could have scored a goal in the 80th minute if skipper Subungsha Daimary's right flick from inside the box had not deflected from the bar.

A-Div League: Maharana Athletic Club (AC) were awarded a walkover as Rajbari AC failed to turn up in the Jibeswar Goswami first division league on the second turf of Nehru Stadium here today.
