Guwahati: Lorence Kachari, an aspiring filmmaker from Dimapur, Nagaland, has become an Indian brand ambassador for Streamiser Inc, an Africa-based online platform whose services include promotion of upcoming artistes from Africa and the world.
Kachari, who is the only Indian so far to be chosen as a brand ambassador for Streamiser Inc, will look out for local talent from the Northeast and the rest of the country in the fields of filmmaking - artistes, musicians, actors and actresses - and bring them to the global platform.
"Our motive is to provide an international platform to the local talents through our channel Streamiser Cinema where African filmmakers converge. It enables partnership, collaboration with national and international film production houses and portrayal of their talents to the world. As I belong to the Northeast, my priority will be to promote talent from the region. Our platform is already promoting several artistes in Africa and worldwide," said Kachari, who hogged the limelight in 2015 when he directed a music video for Diphu-based rock band Celestial Sphere.
The music video, titled How I Wish, was aired on VH1.
Kachari, along with the band, received a positive response from viewers from across the Northeast and from also from different parts of the country.
The video featured former Miss Asia Rewati Chetri. In 2016, Kachari was supposed to embark upon an ambitious project by directing a zombie flick The Dark Ship.
But unfortunately, the project was shelved, and as of now, there are hopes that the project may be revived once again.
"If I get a chance to direct another music video for Celestial Sphere, it would give me an opportunity to showcase the band to African audiences. How I Wish was well received by the people in the Northeast. It was great to see a band from the region getting featured on VH1, an international music channel," he added.
Streamiser Inc is a computer company, founded by a young Cameroonian computer code engineer named Daniel Fofou. It has three branches - Streamiser Cinema, music and HDTV.
