Imphal, Sept. 3: FC Khanglai drubbed United Sporting Association 3-0 in a match of the ninth Manipur State League, 2014 played at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
FC Khanglai opened its account in the 12th minute with N. Pritam Singh collecting a rebound and shooting it home for the lead. Khanglai consolidated in the 45th minute as Th. Joychandra Singh scored his team’s second goal.
Before United Sporting could realise what went wrong, Th. Joychandra blasted home another goal with a low drive during injury time to post a 3-0 score. The Khanglai team collected three points from this win.
FC Khanglai player Kamkhochon Mate and United players Th. Kala, S. Sadananda Singh got a yellow card in the match.
First Division: Rising Athletic Union beat DOAK Yairipok by 3-2 goals in the M. Ibobi Singh Memorial First Division Football League played at artificial turf, Khuman Lampak. In another match, UPSA Pukhao drubbed SSC Porompat by 2-0 goals.
Kang: Gopaldev Kangkhut beat Numit Leima Kangkhut by 20-18 goals in the 59th CC Meet Kang Tournament, 2014 played at Shree Shree Gopaldev Mandap, Yaiskul.
Women footballers: Eight state women footballers including E. Panthoi, Ng. Sweety, K. Tony, Y. Hemolata, Ksh. Margaret, N. Ratanbala, Dangmei Grace and S. Ranjana Chanu are in the national under-19 probables list.
