Guwahati, May 25: The city is all set to host the first Edutainment Show, an exhibition of media, communication and design education and career options available in these fields. The two-day event will take place at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre on May 28 and 29.

The event is being organised by Event Capital, a division of Laqshya Media Group, Mumbai. The Edutainment Show aims to guide students in opting for careers in media, communication and design, besides giving them a chance to attend workshops and discussions. During the workshops, the participants will also be able to interact with experts from different industries like advertising guru Prahlad Kakkar, television producer Raghu Ram, short filmmaker and founder of Shamiana film movement Cyrus Dastur, beauty queen Priyadarshini Chatterjee, film personalities, photographers and singers from the Northeast.

"Edutainment is a unique concept of blending education with entertainment and encouraging youths towards creative careers," said Ujjwal Kumar Chowdhury, Edutainment content director and former director of Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication and dean of SIU, Pune.
