Guwahati, July 11: The metropolitan administration today held a meeting to discuss the failure of the desiltation project after Sunday?s heavy showers left several parts of the city completely waterlogged.

An official who attended the meeting said some of the agencies involved in the execution of the project had not been serious about the project from the very beginning. ?The result is already in front of us,? he said referring to the flooding yesterday.

?We are trying our best to ameliorate the situation, working out ways of dealing with the situation,? he said.
