Imphal, May 9: Cyclone batsman Ishorjit Singh’s unbeaten 70 runs went in vain as his team lost by three wickets against Champ Khagempalli in the MCA Classification Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket ground.

Cyclone team rode on a power packed performance by Ishorjit Singh who smashed Champ Khagempalli bowlers all around the ground for his 70-run-knock. However Ishorjit soon ran out of partners with Suraj Singh scoring 12 runs, Veteshor Singh and Homendro Singh fetching seven runs each to post 125/8 in 40 overs. Champ Khagempalli bowlers Sunder Singh and William Singh bagged three wickets each while Sahadat and Jodiba bagged one wicket wicket each.

Kenedy Singh took charge of Champ Khagempalli innings hitting 32 runs while Makar Singh got 19 runs, Shasikanta Singh with 18 runs and William Singh scoring 12 runs surpassed the target in 36.3 overs losing seven wickets.

Lamba Singh and Suraj Singh bagged two wickets each while Akshaykumar Singh and Rommel bagged a wicket each. Champ Khagemapalli bowler William Singh was named the Man of the Match award for bagging three wickets and scoring 12.
