Students felicitated

Kokrajhar, June 7: Altogether 12 students, who secured the top 10 positions among Bodo-medium institutions in Kokrajhar district in the HSLC examination this year, were felicitated by the Absu, Kokrajhar district committee, at Bodofa House here. The students were given a citation, traditional Bodo aronai and a dictionary.

Trader dies

Bongaigaon: A trader, Nirmal Ray, 42, was found dead in his house at Hatimutra here on Sunday. His hands were tied and there were marks of strangulation on his neck. Police said he was alone in the house as his wife and two children were out.

Crossing over

Guwahati: Jagadish Bhuyan, former AGP MLA from Sadiya in Tinsukia district and a former tourism minister, joined the BJP with 30 supporters here on Sunday whereas 300 workers of AASU, BJP and CPM joined AGP at Sorbhog in Barpeta district.

Resignation

Guwahati: Manoj Baruah resigned from the post of the president of AJYCP on Sunday. He said he would leave the its general membership within a week.

Guwahati: Telecom service provider Vodafone has launched a global design store at Silchar, which is the company's sixth in the Northeast.
