Brainstorm with youths

Eleven bloggers from the state were invited by Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang on Saturday to his official residence in Kohima to share information, opinions and ideas for improving local governance.

Dimapur: Eleven bloggers from the state were invited by Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang on Saturday to his official residence in Kohima to share information, opinions and ideas for improving local governance.

The 11 youngsters selected for the Breakfast with CM initiative are Jenpu Rongmei, a social worker and chief functionary of CAN Youth, Temsusenla Kichu, an entrepreneur and proprietor, Fusion Store, Dimapur, Imtisunep Longchar, proprietor of e-commerce website www.ilandlo.com, Lovi Chophi, an entrepreneur based in Mumbai, Khrolo Lasushe and Tsalila Rudy, both students, T. Amen Jamir, a government employee, activist Vikato S. Aye, Steve Chophy, the general secretary of Dimpaur Naga Students' Union, Inaka Achumi, advocate, Mughabeto Ayemi, visiting lecturer at ICFAI University, Dimapur, and Jacob Thuu, a student leader.

The interaction covered various topics including roads, power, art, sports, education, tourism, youth policies, scholarships and midday meals.

The youngsters aired their views on building all-season roads, stimulating a culture of integrity and putting in place anti-corruption measures, among others.

Zeliang said his government was committed to building a vibrant and developed Nagaland and make mutual respect, cooperation and understanding the initial steps for a better tomorrow.

Zeliang urged all youths along with civil society organisations and NGOs to suggest measures towards strengthening and developing policies and programmes for welfare. He said his door is always open to discuss issues in a democratic manner in order to solve public grievances.
