Inter-school cricket
Dibrugarh, May 26: Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Marwari Hindi High School entered the final registering victories in their respective semi-final matches of the Phapram Das Inter-school Cricket Tournament, organised by Dibrugarh District Sports Association, at DDSA Stadium here today.
In the first semi-final, Marwari Hindi High School beat Jyoti Vidyapith by four wickets.
Put in to bat, Jyoti Vidyapith were all out for 67 in 14 overs. Manab Rai and Anurag Handique scored eight runs each. For Marwari Hindi High School, Dipak Rai and Suresh Sahania shared three wickets each giving away nine and 13 runs respectively. Nishant Singhania took two wickets.
In reply, Marwari Hindi scored 68 losing six wickets in 14.3 overs. Mrintunjoy Yadav remained unbeaten on 22 with the help of a six. Suresh Sahania contributed 16 runs. Abdul Wasim scalped two wickets for Jyoti Vidyapith.
In the other semi-final, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School got the better of Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya by 58 runs.
Opting to bat, Don Bosco put up 112 on the board before being all out in 18 overs. Dibakar Saikia topscored with 32 off 22 balls, laced with five fours and a six, while Nitin Hazarika scored 18 off 11 balls. Anshuman Hazarika also contributed 11 runs.
For SKV, Akash Chetia bagged four for 15. Prangam Sharma scalped three for 23. In reply, SKV were skittled out for 57 in 13 overs. Manab Saikia scored 10, hitting two boundaries.
For Don Bosco, Dibakar Saikia claimed three for six, while Chrinjib Bora and Nitin Hazarika picked up two wickets each.
