Guwahati, Dec. 20: Northeastern I-League outfit Shillong Lajong FC and two Calcutta Premier Division teams will be among 10 teams vying for the honours in the 62nd Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament here from December 30.

Bhawanipore FC and Aryan Club, who are currently playing in the championship round of the Calcutta Football League Premier Division, and Aizawl FC, a second division I-League outfit, have confirmed their participation in the Guwahati Sports Association’s flagship event.

Four Guwahati league sides — Green Valley SC, Assam State Electricuty Board SC, Food Corporation of India SC and NF Railway SC — and Assam Police Blues will be seen in action.

“We had no other option except starting the tournament at this time of the year. We could have organised it early in September but it would have been an all-local affair,” Guwahati Sports Association president Rana Goswami today said.
