Public relations officer (defence) in Guwahati Lt Col P. Khongsai said a certificate was awarded to Deepak for his feat.
The event was witnessed by Brig. Gaurav Rishi and civilian dignitaries, including Barama MLA Maneswar Brahma.
The president of India Book of Records Pawan Solanki was on the panel of judges.
The defence PRO said Deepak also has other records to his name.
"He found a place in Asia Book of Records by doing 51 knuckle push-ups in one minute on January 23, 2018, and entered the India Book of Records on January 26, 2018, by doing 52 knuckle push-ups in one minute," Khongsai said.
"Deepak was a young soldier when he met with a serious accident in a minefield in Poonch sector but he got over it and excelled in basketball, boxing and squash. He created the world records because of his sheer willpower and confidence and made the Indian Army and the people of Assam proud," he added.
