MANIPUR LEAGUE
Imphal, Oct. 12: Anouba Imagi Mangal got the better of FC Zalen 3-2 in the 11th Manipur State League, 2016, at Mapal Kangjeibung, here today.
The win catapults Anouba, with 18 points from seven matches, to the top while FC Zalen have 12 points.
The first 20 minutes proved to be a stalemate but Anouba Imagi broke the deadlock when Md Fayajuddion Shah ruffled the net off a pass from N. James Singh for the lead in the first half.Anouba increased the lead when striker N. Pritam Singh scored in the 56th minute after collecting a pass from E. Ebocha Singh to make the score 2-0.
FC Zalen raised their tempo when Ng. Bedeenpar Moyon netted home in the 67th minute off a corner kick by Patrick Kamei.
Anouba Imagi got their third goal when N. Pritam struck in the 70th minute off a pass from W. Angousana to dominate with 3-1 goals. A late- minute surge from FC Zalen yielded their second goal when Ng. Bedeenpar Moyon scored with able help from Lallenmang Sitlhou in the 90th minute.
Anouba Imagi forward N. Pritam was sent off with a red card by referee I. Rabichandra Singh. Anouba players - S. Dinesh, N. Boreesh and FC Zalen players Thangtinlen Haokip, S. Boilal Haokip received yellow cards.
The second match between Neroca FC and United Sporting Association was postponed because of heavy rain.
AMFA penalty: The All-Manipur Football Association has debarred three players from ongoing Manipur State League for not turning up for team preparation for the seventh NECT. AoNE Football Championship, 2016. The players include T. Nelson Kom, Ng. Bedeenpar Moyon of FC Zalen and L. Premkumar Singh of Sagolband United.
The three players will be allowed to join their respective teams in the Manipur State League matches after the return of the Manipur team fromT. AoFootball Championship from Arunachal Pradesh.
