Guwahati, Jan. 9: Ankurjyoti Club posted a one-wicket victory against Bud Cricket Club in a group A league match of the Madhab Ram Bora Guwahati Sports Association first-division cricket tournament at Nehru Stadium here today.

Ankurjyoti won the toss and put Bud to bat first.

Ambar Bhattacharjee hauled five wickets to restrict the Bud batsmen for 136 in 31.4 overs.

In reply, the Ankurjyoti batsmen scored 140 for nine in 32.3 overs.

Opener Situ Das of Bud scored 40 runs, while Mukut Kalita contributed 30.

Bhattacharjee scalped five wickets, giving away 37 runs.

Tirthankar Das became the topscorer for Ankurjyoti with 20 runs, while Amit Singh (18) and Prahlad Gayan (17) were the other notable scorers of the team.

Bhaskar Kalita plucked four wickets for 29 runs and Raushan Malo notched up two for 17.

Gauhati Town Club will play Food Corporation of India SC in tomorrow’s match.
