Silchar, Aug. 12: Aizawl FC has signed their former senior team coach Jahar Das to be the head of youth development for their academy teams and its other coaching academies in different parts of Mizoram, Tripura and Myanmar.

Das was the head coach of Aizawl FC in the 2015-2016 season of the Hero I-League.

Signing the deal today, the Aizawl FC management stated that the experienced coach from Bengal helped Aizawl FC when the team was in a slump during the I-League 2015-16 season.

It said Das had proved his ability by winning both matches for Aizawl FC against I-League champion Bengaluru FC in the Federation Cup, particularly in the return match in Bangalore. Das also said he would not have any problem to lead the present well-trained and highly motivated Aizawl FC academy teams.

Das helped produce high-level performances in last season’s age group I-League as the two junior sides of Aizawl FC, namely the under-18 and under-15, qualified from their zone qualifying matches undefeated. The under-18 team reached the top four in the under-18 I-League and the under-15 squad qualified confidently for the final round but missed the top four by just a point.
