
Dibrugarh, May 3: Dibru College here was awarded the "A" certification by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of the UGC.
The accreditation results were approved in the 24th standing committee meeting yesterday.
As many as 36 higher educational institutions of the country were awarded grades according to their performance.
Dibru College secured 3.09 CGPA (cumulative grade points average) of the maximum 4 CGPA.
According to the grading system of the NAAC, universities and colleges are assessed for A++ (3.76-4.00 CGPA), A+(3.51-3.75 CGPA), A (3.01-3.50CGPA), B++(2.76-3.00 CGPA), B+ (2.51-2.76 CGPA), B (2.01-2.50 CGPA) and C (1.51-2.00 CGPA).
The lowest rank which falls under D category (up to 1.50 CGPA) are denied accreditation.
The grades are given on parameters such as curriculum, teaching, learning resources, governance and student activities.
Another frontline college of Dibrugarh DHSK College was awarded B++ with 2.85 CGPA.
Three other colleges of the state also figured in the latest NAAC ranking.
Bijni College, Chirang, was accorded B+ with 2.55 CGPA, Rangachahi College, Majuli College and Tinsukia Commerce College were awarded B grade with 2.30 CGPA and 2.10 CGPA respectively.
