Sabya wasn’t the only Kolkata designer to be featured at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival had some major fashion moments this year. But if you think, Sabyasachi was the only Kolkata designer whose creations made it to the red carpet, you need to do a double take. Turns out quite a few city-based labels were lucky enough to showcase their designs at the festival.
Besides Aishwarya Rai’s Bobo Calcutta jacket and filmmaker Gourab Mullick’s dhuti by Parama, luxury designer Ambika Lal also designed a stunning number for the red carpet.
Digital creator Tarini Peshawaria wore a dramatic powder-blue ruffled gown, designed by Lal, on the Cannes red carpet. The voluminous number was cinched at the waist and had a tiered ruffle skirt. Peshawaria paired her gown with minimal drop diamond earrings by Joolry.
