It’s raining sleuths in Bengali cinema. Besides the Feluda adaptations (yes, plural) and the new Goenda Shabor movie, there’s a new Byomkesh film that’s headed your way. Arindam Sil just dropped the first look of his fourth Byomkesh film featuring Abir Chatterjee as Byomkesh and Sohini Sarkar as Satyabati.
Based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s incomplete story Bishupal Bodh (which was reportedly completed by Sil and Padmanabha Dasgupta), the film is centred around a murder that happens on stage during a play which Byomkesh was attending. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen replacing Rahul as Byomkesh’s companion Ajit. Suhotra was recently spotted in another SVF outing, the OTT series, Gora.
