1/10 RAINY HANGOVER: Vehicles ply on a Kolkata thoroughfare on a rainy Sunday, January 23. After a couple of cloudy days at the beginning of this week, a chilly spell arrived in the city on Friday morning. The next couple of days are likely to be colder. However, another western disturbance is likely to emerge by next weekend which will most likely trigger some rain in Kolkata and neighbouring areas on February 4 & 5, according to the Met forecast

9/10 SISTER ON WALLS: The Bagbazar residence of Sister Nivedita, a disciple of Swami Vivekananda, in north Kolkata gets a fresh coat of paint and murals on its facade on Saturday, January 29. Nivedita’s house, now Sister Nivedita Heritage Museum & Knowledge Centre, remains closed to the public due to the ongoing pandemic situation. However, Mother’s House, popularly known as Sri Sri Maayer Bari, a little distance away, will allow entry of visitors from February 1. The Ramakrishna Mission headquarters at Belur, Howrah, continues to be closed to the public
