The once lost sea-faring wooden boat of Bengal was recreated using century-old technology by veteran boat-maker Panchanan Mondal and his team of artisans in an initiative by anthropologist Swarup Bhattacharyya, funded by British Museum’s Endangered Material Knowledge Programme

4/4 Dr Atiur Rahman, honorary professor of the Department of Development Studies,  Dhaka University and currently Bangabandhu Chair Professor at the Department of History, Dhaka University,  addresses attendees of a conference titled ‘Indo-Bangla Ties: Role of Education, Healthcare in Bridging Social Infrastructural Gap.’ He was the chief guest of the event which was organised at Kolkata Press Club on Thursday
