The minimum temperature in Kolkata has risen since last week by 2 to 3° Celsius. Kolkata’s air quality index showed poor between November 21 and 27. It even crossed Delhi's AQI for a few days. This led the West Bengal environment department to announce a ‘Graded Response Action Plan’ (GRAP) to fight the rising pollution scenario in Kolkata and its neighbouring towns like Howrah, Barrackpore, Durgapur, Haldia and Asansol. Ashim Paul/My KolkataOn the final day of the Rapid section of Tata Steel Chess India, Nihal Sarin of India emerged as the winner holding on to his leading position at the end of the second day. Sarin finished with 6.5 points followed by Arjun Erigaisi finishing at 6 points. In the women’s category at the end of round 9 there was a tie between Anna Ushenina and Nana Dzagnidze with both standing at 6.5 points. Anna displayed her determination at the tie-breaker matches and won both the matches and emerged winner of the Rapid section of the fourth edition of Tata Steel Chess India. The Blitz competition of Tata Steel Chess India for both men and women category will be played on December 3 and 4 at the National Library
