In a special bulletin, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning over south Bengal between April 16 to 20. According to IMD, mainly dry westerly to north westerly wind at lower levels is likely to prevail over the region and due to strong solar insolation heat wave condition/hot and discomfort weather is very likely to occur over the districts of south Bengal. The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday afternoon was 39.4˚C
