Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, Kolkata, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), observed the first International Moon Day on Wednesday. It held a science demonstration lecture, quiz contest and film show with schoolchildren to celebrate the occasion.

The Indian Museum Kolkata celebrated ‘International Chess Day’ at its central courtyard on Thursday. Students, children and visitors along with Indian Museum staff participated in a chess tournament on the occasion. The event concluded with a prize-distribution ceremony.
